Close-up of previous photo. Nearest the camera on the right are two of the cottages which were destroyed by fire in 1937. The closest was a general store run by George Smith. The ruins were demolished soon after and a house was built on the site but set back and of an inappropriate style, so the integrity of the street was much diminished.
