
A bomber crew of the 323rd Bomb Group sit on the flak damaged nose of their B-26 Marauder (serial number 41-34719) nicknamed "Miss Emily". on a recent mission to Merville. The navigator had just vacated his seat which was demolished by the shell and the pilot was saved from serious injury by his FLAK armour. The names of the crew are (left to right): Lt Tom Trainor of Haversill, Mass, (navigator), Lt Jim Davis of Ellijay, Georgia (Pilot), S/Sgt Richard King of Dallas,Texas, (Engineer), S/Sgt Joseph S. White of Eureka, Missouri, (Radio Gunner), and S/Sgt Lemberger of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, tail gunner.'
