- Church Street
The church after the bomb fell on 16th September 1940. At first the tower seemed to have survived but on the 17th the turret fell and over the following week the south west corner of the tower started to collapse. In the following winter scaffolding was put up and this allowed the bells to be lowered undamaged to the ground and then the rest of the top of the tower, split and fractured by the bomb blast, was demolished.
