
The Wesleyan Methodist Church, on the other side of the Street was opened on built in 1882 and opened on 25th January 1883 after £1,200 was collected for its construction. Renovated 1895. Wesleyans first worshipped in Coggeshall 1811 in what became 'The Foresters' a little further up Stoneham Street, and later in a chapel in East Street next to the Swan Inn.
